✉ POLINESIA FRANCESA. 1908 (Jan 11). Colour postcard used to France. franked on front with 1892-1900 5c. yellow green tied by bold strike of "HUAHINE-TAHITI" cds in black. Exceptional and scarce.

✉ TAHITI. 1911. MAKATEA to YOKOHAMA (Japan). 25 cts. blue and red with manuscript cancel MAKATEA and PAPEETE cds (cancel). Makatea, Japanese Camp. the first group of Japanese workers arrived in 1911. RARE.

✉ TUNEZ. 1898. GRENOBLE a TUNEZ y reexpedida otra vez a GRENOBLE. Frente de sobre con parte del dorso. Tasado a la llegada con sellos de tasa de 20 cts. oliva y tira de cuatro del 25 cts. negro perforados "T", a la llegada a Grenoble la carta fue nuevamente tasada con 3 sellos de 50 cts.

Entire letter mailed unpaid in letter-box with oval FREIBURG-POSTABLAGE-GOTTENHEIM struck three times on front, franked on arrival on reverse with Rural Postage Due "Land Post" 1862 1kr. black on yellow and 3kr. black on yellow (2). Cover franked with pair 1 kr. green, plus single 3 kr. rose and 6 kr. bistre (Sc 23, 24, 25), prepaying the direc service letter rate to the United States under the NGU Treaty. Stamps tied by MUNCHEN 1 cds, and front shows FRANCO handstamp plus red NEW YORK/PAID ALL arrival datestamp. A colorful transatlantic cover showing scarce franking.

✉ ALEMANIA ANTIGUOS ESTADOS: PRUSIA. 1858 (Jan 7). Cover from Stettin to Paris with delightful three colour franking of 1858 2sgr. black on blue, 3sgr. black on yellow and 6pf. (½sgr.) orange all tied by '1439' numeral cancellations of Stettin. Valenciennes entry marking and Paris arrival (Jan 9) on reverse. A very attractive cover. Scott 10,12,13a.

✉ ALEMANIA ANTIGUOS ESTADOS: TOUR Y TAXIS. 1866. Envelope to FRANCE bearing 1/2 sgr yellow (3) (SG 41) and 3 sgr brown (SG 44) tied by concentric ring cancel with adjacent HAMBURG TH & T datestamp, handstruck PD and French entry cachet with PARIS arrival. Superb cover.

Prussian Closed Mail rate to the United States. Stamps tied by ´234´ target cancel with JENA cds alongside. Front shows red AACHEN/PAID 23 cts. datestamps, manuscrip ´fr 2/10´ Sgr. accounting, plus red N. YORK AM PKT/PAID arrival datestamp. Reverse bears manuscrip ´f 10´ Sgr credit to the US. A scarce and colorful transatlantic cover with original enclosure.

✉ GRAN BRETAÑA. 1853 (Dec. 26). Entire letter prepaid to JEREZ LA FRONTERA (Spain), endorsed 'via Southampton, per Steamer to Cadiz' at top. London despatch in red on front and annotated prepaid at 2s. 2d. in red ink. The entire addressed care of 'Don Pedro Lembeye' in Cadiz who paid the '20 R.' charge and placed the entire with Spanish Private Courier Company with PAUSADELA / Y / COMPAÑIA cachet in red. An EXTREMELY RARE example of this combination of two (Public & Private) Postal Services.

✉ GRAN BRETAÑA. 1863. CANARY ISLANDS. TENERIFFE. Envelope to DEVON (England) endorsed "Tammell Hunt A.B.H.M.S. TRITON. Teneriffe" countersigned by Commanding officer, bearing 1 d. red cancelled on arrival in London and showing, on reverse, London (13.3) and arrival cds. the envelope a litle soiled. Very rare, only a few known 1 d. Military Concession Rate from Canary Islands. Ex. J. SACHER.

✉ ASCENSION. 1839. Entire letter datelined at top 'HM Brig Wolverine at Sea, April 22, 1839' and stating 'Ascension April 25, we arrived here this morning and sail again for the Congo' mailed to ABERDEEN and struck with fine SHIP LETTER / COWES in red (Robertson S2) on reverse and London transit cds (June 13). Finally rated at 4 shillings to pay (Ship Letter 1s. 4d.+ Cowes-Aberdeen 2s. 8d.). A fascinating and rare early entire from Ascension with a remarkable letter from an Anti Slavery Patrol ship. Content includes: 'from Gibraltar we made Sierra Leone in very few days...then to Cape Palmas to intercept and slavers we should fall in with...made sail for the Island of Princes (Principe) which is the Headquarters of all our suspects...captured a Portuguese schooner with 90 slaves on board, being leaky we took her back to Princess, found un-seaworthy she was condemned...(slaves) all minced together, men, women and children with hardly a rag to cover them...the Captain is American ...we have no right of search with America...after leaving Prince's we passed in sight of St. Thomas's then running south made Anna Bona.' .

✉ COSTA DE ORO. 1853. Outer letter sheet from a correspondence written from KETA AND TESHI, addressed care of 'Charles Young in Islington, London' for transmission to the North German Missionary Soc. in BREMEN. Reverse with PLYMOUTH / PACKET LETTER datestamp (Sept 9) in red (Robertson P2) and London arrival cds of the following day and charge of '2s.' paid for a 1 ounce letter. Struck with fine ISLINGTON S.O. Sorting Office handstamp in black and thence endorsed 'via Ostend' to Bremen. Charged '7' (pence) when forwarded and charged '32' grote on arrival. A fine and scarce cover from this famous correspondence.

✉ COSTA DE ORO. 1871 (April). Officer's envelope to Southsea with printed H.M.S. RATTLESNAKE crest on flap, bearing GB 1866-69 1 d. red (6) one of whitch has been removed from another cover and reused (on price!), each cancelled with "11" in barred oval (G.P.O.) cancellation and showing PORTSMOUTH arrival cds. (24.5) on reverse, recipient's notation "written at Cape Coast Castle April 1871, recd May 24th" below adhesives; edges and corners worn, still an unusual and attractive cover. Rare and very interesting postaly fraud.

✉ COSTA DE ORO. 1872. Stampless registered cover from CAPE COAST to EDINBURGH, struck with circular PAID AT CAPE COAST CASTLE datestamp in red (June 12) with framed REGISTERED handstamp alongside. Prepaid '5' and '1' (pence) in red manuscript (1d. to the Colony). Struck on arrival with REGISTERED / LIVERPOOL datestamp and PAID / LIVERPOOL / 3 PACKET / BR JY 72 datestamp error in red (July 3). Reverse with Edinburgh and Murrayfield cds's. A fine and VERY RARE cover.

✉ COSTA DE ORO. 1874 (25-Jun). Officer's envelope to BIRMINGHAM, showing CAPE COAST CASTLE cds. (28.1), bearing GB 1858-79 1 d. red (6) to pay 6 d. officer's rate, each cancelled with 466 (Liverpool) barred oval, showing PAID/LIVERPOOL/BR. PACKET cds.(20.2) with LONDON arrival cds. (20.2) on reverse. Torn flap, otherwise very fine. Very rare association Brithish stamps + CAPE COAST CASTLE datestamp.

✉ COSTA DE ORO. 1876 (26-Oct.). Envelope registered to WOLVERHAMPTON, bearing 1875 6 d. orange (2) and 1876-79 1 d. blue (4), all cancelled with 556 in OVAL OF BARS, showing red crayon "10", framed REGISTERED with red crayon "fee 4 d." alongside, PAID-AT-CAPE-COAST-CASTLE cds. (26.10), PAID/LIVERPOOL/BR. PACKET ds. (28.11) with arrival cds. (29.11) on reverse. A small cover with the stamps previously folded over the top edge, subsequently opened out for display. Rare and remarkable franking, one of four recorded first issue covers and the unique REGISTERED and unique mixed first and second issue franking. Ex. Robson Lowe.

Via Bombay & Brindisi", franked on reverse at 9 a. by India 1882-90 1 a. brown-purple vertical pair, 2 a. blue and 1892-95 2 a. 6 p. yellow-green vertical pair, tied by individual mostly fine strikes of type Z12 ("C32") small BUSHIRE squared circle (four bars at corners). On face, fine BUSHIRE registration cachet and purple circular "AR", with LONDON transit ds (3 Ju 98) below, and Colchester arrival backstamp (4 J(U) 98). Trivial marks on face but a very fine three-colour franking, with red wax seals.

Via Bombay & Brindisi", franked on both sides at 29 1/2a by India 1882-90 1/2 a. (5), 1 a. (7), 2 a. (3), 3 a. (2) and 8 a., tied by individual strikes (some fine) of type Z12 ("C32") small BUSHIRE squared circle (four bars at corners). On face, BUSHIRE registration cachet and purple circular AR with part red LONDON transit cds. COLCHESTER arrival backstamp of 7 JY. Opened for display spectacular and very remarkable five colour high value franking.
