A rare military cachet from the occupation.

A RARE entire.

Cover and contents, written from "Handeluku, Tuesday Aug 19, 1862" with contents mentioning '…was away in Gabon and Brother Mackey at the same time up the Muni among the Pangu's...of his detention and the robbery of his boat and goods we fear for his safety...' mailed on arrival in NEW YORK to NEW JERSEY, franked by 1861 3c. rose tied by rare DOTTED PAPER CUT obliterator (Type BN-P4) with NEW YORK cds (Oct 25) adjacent. A RARE and most interesting entire.
