Outer letter sheet from a correspondence written from KETA AND TESHI, addressed care of 'Charles Young in Islington, London' for transmission to the North German Missionary Soc. in BREMEN. Reverse with PLYMOUTH / PACKET LETTER datestamp (Sept 9) in red (Robertson P2) and London arrival cds of the following day and charge of '2s.' paid for a 1 ounce letter. Struck with fine ISLINGTON S.O. Sorting Office handstamp in black and thence endorsed 'via Ostend' to Bremen. Charged '7' (pence) when forwarded and charged '32' grote on arrival. A fine and scarce cover from this famous correspondence.
