✉ MALAYA. 1851 (Aug 30). Entire letter from SINGAPORE to Cadiz via Gibraltar, reverse with fine British Post Office ALEXANDRIA cds (Oct 8) and front with Malta ´Purifié au Lazaret´ disinfection cachet. Charged ´10d.´ due in manuscript without the usage of a ´To Pay´ marking.

✉ MALAYA. 1853 (March 15). Entire letter written form PENANG (Jan 3, 1853) sent privately to FRANCE and mailed from PARIS to BESANÇON: struck with PARIS-25c. prepaid datestamp in black on front, reverse with Besançon arrival cds. RARE and most unusual wntire. Opinion Holcombe.

✉ MALAYA. 1896 (Jan 25). France 10c. black on straw postal stationery card, written in German with ´Bord Str. Melbourne, Singapore´ on reverse; struck with two very fine strikes of circular LIGNE N-PAQ. FR. No. 5 Paquebot datestamp in black. St. Gallen arrival cds at left (Feb 19). A fine and scarce usage.

✉ MALAYA: FEDERACION DE ESTADOS. 1902. FMS 5 c. ultramarine registered stationery envelope used to PARIS and up-rated with FMS pair of 1900 3 c. black & brown with two 5 c. red and green on yellow tied KAMPAR squared circle datestamp (Perak, Proud D1, R1) with registration cachet alongside and PENANG and PARIS cds´s on reverse of delightful cover.

✉ MALAYA. 1921. IPOH (Perak) to GERMANY. Postcard posted in PENANG without stamp, by PENANG cds and taxed on arrival with ´160´. Oval mark CHINESE PROTECTORATE IPOH, PERAK. Rare and interesting item.NOTE: As Ipoh was becoming the epicentre of chinese crime, the Perak Chinese Protectorate moved to Ipoh from Taiping in 1894. The Chinese Protector was here to solve crimes, as well as brothel ,sanitary and vagrant problems.

✉ MALAYA. 1925. PORT SWTTENHAM (Selangor) to MALACCA (Malaya). Postcard franked with 1 cto. black Straits Settlements stamp and 1 cto. black of F.M.S. stamp the first in not valid in Selangor. Taxed on arrival with Straits Settlements 1 cent. lilac stamp. Part of address erased and age stains. Very rare combination franking.

✉ MALAYA. 1927 (April 1). Registered cover to Italy franked on reverse with 1922-23 8c carmine rose pair, 10c black and 12c pale ultramarine all tied by Kuching cds´s. Front with Kuching registration cachet in violet. Transit cds of Singapore and Livorno arrival on reverse of scarce cover. Scott 60,62,64.

✉ MALTA. 1837 (Dec. 19). Large part entire letter from SMYRNA to PARIS, endorsed at upper left ´Malte´ in manuscript, with reverse showing italic ´Purifié de Marseille´ in black and somewhat toasted for disinfection. Marseille transit cds (Jan. 6, 1838) on front and rated 10 decimes handstruck on arrival.

✉ MALTA. 1838. Stampless envelope addressed to PARIS written from ´La Hauteur de Stromboli´ at Malta with manuscript ´MALTA´ and boxed PAQUEBOTS DE LA MEDITERANEE and charged ´20´ on arrival in manuscript. Very rare item.

✉ MALTA. 1866 (Oct.). Entire from Holland, bearing red ´AMSTERDAM´ cds also PAYS-BAS/2 ERQUELINES cds. in blue, FR/2F 16C currency mark, on reverse has two Malta receiving marks. Very rare currency mark, not listed in Salles on cover from Holland.

Stampless entire, endorsed ´Voie de Marseille´ and ´Paquebot francais/ou anglais´, Barcelona despatch and French entry cds and fair example of scarce circular-framed accountancy FR/1f 45c handstamp, reverse with MARSEILLE transit and arrival cds. Very rare accountancy mark not listed in Salles.

NAPOLI cds alongside and fair two line PIROSCAFI POSTALI / NAZIONALI at left. Naples and Genova arrival cds on reverse of a VERY RARE entire. Signed Raybaudi.Entire letter to GENOA from MALTA franked by GB 4 d. vermilion pl. 10. Tied on arrival in Naples Port by numeral handstamp with cds alongside and fine two line PIROSCAFI POSTALI-NAZIONALI in black. NAPLES & GENOA cds´s on reverse of fine and rare entire. SG 95.

✉ FRANCIA. 1840 (Aug. 14). Entire lettre from MAURITIUS to BORDEAUX endorsed ´per Le Pondichéry´ and struck with MAURITIUS-POST OFFICE cds in red (faint) and framed PAYS D´OUTREMER in red alongside PAUILLAC-BATEAU A VAPEUR in red (April 14). Salles three or four pieces known in this colour. A rare usage of this entry marking.

✉ MAURICIO. 1843 (June 8th). Autograph letter signed by A. Thom, 8 June 1843, addressed to Stokes on board ´The Beagle´ at PORT LOUIS (Mauritius), four pages 4to envelope. Thom writes on his work in tracing the movement and behaviour of the recent hurricane in the vicinity of Mauritius, and begs Stokes to await the conclusion of this work before he places the matter before the Admiralty. He comments on the ignorance of the ships´ masters involved of the true nature of the hurricane, on the slow movement of the eye of the hurricane, and on the correct course of action for a ship caught in it. Stoke and ´The Beagle´ were returning home from their survey of the coasts of Australia. An important and historic item with the famous discovery ship ´H.M.S. Beagle´.

✉ MAURICIO. 1867 (Sept. 18). Cover and complete contents written from PORT LOUIS, MAURICE, (ANCIENNE FORT DE FRANCE), sent unpaid to FRANCE and struck with fine circular COR. D.ARM / LIG.T.PAQ.FR.No.1 datestamp in black of the same day. Handstruck ´30´ due marking applied, with Paris (Oct 25) arrival on reverse of a charming and rare entire that displays well.
