✉ ALEMANIA. 1695 (July). Printed Entire letter from ´Camp Waldorff´ with mss rate 4 and ´De L´Armee s´Allemagne´ manuscript at top of letter. A rare item from the Campaign against William III, mailed just before France lost Namur, Belgium. The Treaty of Ryswick taking place in September 1697, the War of Spanish Succession breaking out in 1701.

FELD-POST/RELAIS Nº 35. 18/9 with boxed P.P. in red, charged ´2´ erased routed via Paris and forwarded from Livarot to the Channel Islands with manuscript accountancy and JERSEY arrival on reverse. Only two covers known into Jersey from the Franco-Prussian War.

Cover at double rate from GOERLITZ to SAO LUIZ (Paraná Province), struck with GOERLITZ despatch cds in black and endorsed MILITARIA at lower left (the reverse with ´Kgl. 1. Westpr. LDW. Regt. No. 6 / 1 Batallón / 2 Compagnie´ cachet in blue), taxed on arrival with octagonal framed 600 / Rs. handstamp in black. A most unusual cover.

✉ ALEMANIA. 1885. HAMBURG to CAMBRIDGE (U.S.A.). 10 pf. rose (one stamp contemporary fault), redirected to BAR HARBOR with U.S. 2 cents brown stamp.

✉ ALEMANIA. 1890 (March 18). 10 pf. red on blue postal stationery envelope (146x113mm) up-rated with 1889 10 pf. carmine tied by NAUMBURG cds and used to Kuala Buron, via Bandar Masin, Kahagan, BORNEO. Transits on reverse with datestamps of NED INDIE-SINGAPORE (April 8), SEMERANG, SOERABAJA (April 14) and BANDAR MASIN. An extraordinary destination. Scott 48.

✉ ALEMANIA. 1890 (Sept 9). Cover to FRANCE franked by 1888 2 x 10 pf. carmine tied by DARMSTADT cds´s, readdressed on arrival with Type Sage 5 c. green pair tied by DREUX A BUEIL convoyeur TPO cds, and sent back to MUNICH and GMUNDEN. Attractive redirected cover. Scott 48.

✉ ALEMANIA. 1898 (Jan 7). 10pf+10pf stationery reply cards used from Braunschweig to Kenhardt, Cape of Good Hope. On arrival the card was sent on to The Grange PO, Transvaal and 1898 ½d green applied and tied by Kenhardt cds. Variety of transits on reverse of most unusual card-reply half attached unused. Scott 59.

✉ COLONIAS ALEMANAS. 1893 (Jul). CAMEROON. CAMEROON to GERMANY, bearing Lagos stamp, 2 1/2 d. ultramarine in combination with Germany 1889 20 pf. sharing ´CÖLN (RHEIN)-VERVIERS/BAHNPOST/ZUG 7 oval d.s. with a further fine strike alongside,PANKOW arrival c.d.s (22.8) on reverse; both adhesives with small faults though a very rare and unusual combination franking. Note: As Cameroon was a member of the U.P.U., but the Niger Territories were not, German and British postage had to be paid separately. The above cover was probably transported via the Benue and Niger rivers, possibly in a sealed bag. Carried to Europe on a German mailboat, it was landed at Antwerp.

✉ AFRICA ORIENTAL ALEMANA. 1905. 7 1/2 h. carmine, pair + two singles tied by WILHELMSTAL cds´s on a registered 1907 cover to GERMANY, with three backstamps, couple small repaired cover holes at far left. Very fine, a scarce multiple franking. Michel 24, Sc. 24.

✉ MARRUECOS ALEMAN. 1894 (Dec 5). 3pf. green postal stationery Newspaper wrapper used from Mogador (Essaouria) to Stuttgart, with manuscript ´Mogador 5/12/94´at left. Up-rated with 1888 3pf. brown and 10pf. carmine tied by framed ´AUS/WEST AFRIKA´ handstamps in black. Rare and unusual usage.

✉ MARRUECOS ALEMAN. 1898 (July 15). Cover from MAZAGAN to BREMEN with toned 20pf. ultramarine tied by oval DEUTSCHE SEEPOST-LINIE-HAMBURG/WESTAFRIKA-XIII datestamps in black. Manuscript ship endorsement at top and reverse with Bremen arrival cds (July 23). Faults but scarce usage. Signed Bothe BPP.

✉ MARRUECOS. 1899 (April 30). Cover bearing embossed 5pf. green (2) used to SAFFI/MOROCCO cancelled by MUNICH despatch cds´s. Oval DEUTSCHE SEEPOST-LINIE-HAMBURG/WESTAFRIKA-IX datestamp on front (May 17) and manuscript ´Züruck...´ (Return to sender) and two line cachet AGENTUR DER WOERMAN LINIE/IN SAFFI in violet. Reverse with German Consulate in Saffi handstamp in violet, Tangier cds and Munich return cds (May 30). A most interesting and very rare mark of the Woerman Linie in Saffi.

Reverse with Borma arrival cds (July 12). A rare stamp on letter. Signed W. Brandes. Michel 40.
