V. BRIND / A. MOD cds on front (Aug 12) in red and arrival cds on reverse. An unusual usage.

Cover to MONS (Belgium) franked by General Issues 1871 imperforate Ceres 20c. blue, marginal single, horizontal pair and strip of three, all cancelled by dotted CCH lozenge in black and by COCHINCHINE / SAIGON cds (Sept 11). Reverse with Mons Station arrival cds (Oct 17). A scarce franking. Signed Boule.

✉ INDOCHINA. 1879. Cover at Military Concession rate (20c.) to FRANCE, with adhesive missing and manuscript 'P.P. Timbre Perdu' over space, with scarce octagonal CORR. D.ARM / CHAUDOC datestamp in blue (Jan 23) at left; thence via French Paquebot via Suez. Reverse with Saigon transit cds (Jan 26) and Vannes arrival cds (March 1) and manuscript 'Correspondence Militaire' and countersigned by Commanding Officer.

'Le Courrier d'Haiphong' Newspaper (3 issues) used to PARIS with address wrapper band (name excised) franked by Dubois 1881 5c. green (3) all tied by HAIPHONG / TONKIN datestamps (May 18). Auxerre arrival cds alongside (June 26). An extraordinary example of a multiple Newspaper rate and extremely scarce.

Grasset 10c. red postal stationery envelope sent registered to LORIENT (France) up-rated with Indochina 1904 25c. deep blue and scarce Sower 15c. grey-green vertical pair overprinted 'F.M.' (Franchise Militaire) in black, neatly tied by QUANG-TRI / ANNAM datestamps (May 11). Flap missing on reverse but with two arrivals (10/7).

LOUIS in black (Jan 14). Returned with RETOUR / A L'ENVOYEUR in red and taxed again on arrival with perforated Postage Due 50c. black and 1r. maroon tied messily in black (Feb 4) but an unusual double imperf./perf. usage.

Cover, addressee's name excised, franked by 1859/65 Eagle 20c. blue, 40c. vermilion and 80c. bright rose all tied by dotted OCN lozenge in black with TAITI (OCEANIE) / PAPEETE datestamp (Nov 3). Red 'PD' at left and reverse with only one flap but with Paris cds (Dec 28). Despite faults, a scarce usage. Signed Ceres.

Registered cover from PAPEETE to HAMBURG franked by 1892 Oceanic 5c. green, 10c. black, 1893 Tahiti diagonally overprinted 20c. red on green and 75c. rose and 1893 horizontally overprinted 15c. blue, 25c. black on rose a 1fr. olive green all tied by PAPEETE cds's (March 12). Reverse with San Francisco transit (April 12), New York and Hamburg datestamps (28/4). Stains but scarce.

Reverse with Paris transit cds (22/5) and arrival cds. A fresh and fine cover. Certificate PETER SEM (1996).
