Registered entire letter from Weinheim to London with cds of despatch at left, orange ´Chargé´ handstamp and, on arrival, struck with ´Crown-Registered´ and ´PD´ handstamps in purple with scarce ´PRUSSIA-CROWN-REGISTERED´ alongside. A pretty and scarce entire.

Entire letter written from SAN JOSE (Honduras) sent unpaid to HOYER in the Duchy of Schleswig, with reverse showing manuscript "Forwarded Belize, Honduras, 16 June 1855 by your obdient servants N. Wesselhoeft" and mailed from there via British Post Office with BELIZE double arc cds in black. LONDON transit cds (July 23) in red and Danish P.O in Hamburg transit (July 27) in black. Plethora of rates in manuscript "10" (pence) in ink (6 d. to GB + 4 d. to Denmark) = 8 1/2 sgr. + German share of 3 1/2 sgr. = 12 sgr. marked in blue ink. Rounded up to 16 shillinge = 52 skilling + 9 skilling Danish share =61 skilling due to pay (red crayon). A marvellous and extremely rare entire. Probably the earliest cover known from Honduras to Schleswig-Holstein.

Front shows red AACHEN/PAID 23 cts. datestamps, manuscrip ´fr 2/10´ Sgr. accounting, plus red N. YORK AM PKT/PAID arrival datestamp. Reverse bears manuscrip ´f 10´ Sgr credit to the US. A scarce and colorful transatlantic cover with original enclosure.

Obverse also bears boxed “Jnsufficiently/prepaid” (with a 'J') + circular-framed “More to Pay” and red crayon '2', altered to '3½' in manuscript. Full Sommer certificate. Very fine.

Mailed to the Poste Restante in Lucerne the cover was marked with ´Non Réclamé´ handstamp and in manuscript: ´Aus Heidelberg 15/9, In Luzern 16/9, Returned to Heidelberg 14/2´. Stamp tied by framed FRANKFURT A.M. datestamp, and front shows red PD handstamp, plus blue ALLEMAGNE/ERQ. PARIS entry. Reverse bears PARIS A HAVRE ambulant plus LE HAVRE arrival datestamps. A very fine and scarce cover, with 1991 SOMMER certificate.

Reverse with rare circular NEW YORK-D-BRITISH TRANSIT in black. Rare and most appealing cover.

Cover at double rate from GOERLITZ to SAO LUIZ (Paraná Province), struck with GOERLITZ despatch cds in black and endorsed MILITARIA at lower left (the reverse with "Kgl. 1. Westpr. LDW. Regt. No. 6 / 1 Batallón / 2 Compagnie" cachet in blue), taxed on arrival with octagonal framed 600 / Rs. handstamp in black. A most unusual cover.

On arrival treated as unpaid and charged with Postage Due 3ö. rose carmine and 9ö. orange-yellow tied by MALMO thimble cds's (Sept 24). Scarce and attractive card.

✉ ALEMANIA. 1888 (Nov 11). Printed envelope with blue illustration of Schoolmaster and Pupil, used to MORGES (Switzerland); franked by 20pf. blue tied by APOLSEN cds in black. Flap missing but with complete Morges arrival on reverse.

✉ ALEMANIA. 1930. WEINGARTEN to CALI (Colombia). Colombian 4 ctvos. envelope uprated with 8 cts. (2) and 15 cts. (2) (Mi 444/45) sent via SCADTA with special stamps of 5 cts. yellow (6) and colombian stamps of 1 ctvo. green (2). Rare franking.

✉ COLONIAS ALEMANAS. 1893 (Jul). CAMEROON. CAMEROON to GERMANY, bearing Lagos stamp, 2 1/2 d. ultramarine in combination with Germany 1889 20 pf. sharing "CÖLN (RHEIN)-VERVIERS/BAHNPOST/ZUG 7 oval d.s. with a further fine strike alongside,PANKOW arrival c.d.s (22.8) on reverse; both adhesives with small faults though a very rare and unusual combination franking. Note: As Cameroon was a member of the U.P.U., but the Niger Territories were not, German and British postage had to be paid separately. The above cover was probably transported via the Benue and Niger rivers, possibly in a sealed bag. Carried to Europe on a German mailboat, it was landed at Antwerp.
