Entire letter from WASHINGTON DC- the "Second Bulletin Sanitaire" concerning and epidemic in Charleston SC, addressed to the Public Health Officer in MARSEILLE, with manuscript "French Consulate General-Post Paid" and "via New York, Havre Packet". Struck with Washington cds (Sept 11), straight line PAID and two line COLONIES PAR-LE HAVRE with all markings in red. A fine entire.

May 19, 1857 circular datestamps on blue folded letter to Copenhagen, Denmark, magenta "24" credit, red boxed P.D. handstamp, NEW YORK and HAMBURG backstamp, presumably and additional 3c stamp is missing which made up the 27c rate via French Mails, still appears Fine, rare usage, one of only two recorded usages of the 5c. 1856 issue to Denmark, the other cover pays the 35c. rate via Prussian Closed Mail, unpublished Census No. 12-COV-335, ex Hugh J. Baker. (Sc 12,15,11).

Envelope franked with 1 ctvo. blue double vertical perforation error, two 3 cts. rose and 12 cts. black, tied by blue segment cork cancel and by chicago double circle datestamp, AMERICA/UBER BREMEN/FRANCO three-line handstamp, transit and arrival cds on reverse. Very fine and attractive franking paying 19 cts. Bremen-Hamburg Mail rate to Switzerland and VERY RARE with 1 ctvo. ERROR.

Entire letter from NEW YORK to CADIZ (Spain) endorsed per steamer 'Cuba' at 24 cents rate franked by vertical pair of Washington 1867 12c. black (with grill) tied by cork cancels in black. London transit cds in red (June 27) on reverse and London obliterator '5' over-striking the erroneous London/Paid cds on front. Taxed on arrival in Cadiz with '8' Reales due handstamp in red. A rare and fine pair on a scarce cover.
