Cover sent to Breslau from Loanda, underpaid and found to be double rate (22 grams in manuscript) bearing Germany 1889 10pf. carmine pair tied by oval dated 'Deutsche Seepost/Linie/Hamburg-Westafrika/XI' in black. Further strike at left and manuscript charge '40pf' due double the deficiency. A scarce and appealing cover. Scott 48.

Large part Value Declared cover to BREMEN (part of reverse and side flaps missing), bearing Azores 1887 500r. red violet (Scott 64 = $110) and Ponta Delgada 1892 20r. grey lavender and 200r. blue on blue all tied by PONTA DELGADA datestamps. Orange Value Declared label and reverse with fine ESTAFETA DE CAMBIO-MADRID (June 12) and Bremen arrival cds alongside. A rare and interesting piece.
