REGISTERED LETTER OFFICE-CAPE TOWN cds in black and London arrival in red on front (Aug 22). Minor trim to envelope but rare.

✉ SUDAN. 1884. Sailor's letter cover endorsed from "M. Sullivan, Skilled Shipwr., HMS Euraylus, Suakim" franked with Great Britain 1880/81 2d. deep rose (SG. 168a), tied by British numeral obliterator 17 of Birmingham and reverse with Birmingham arrival cds (March 4). Some minor aging but a scarce cover from this famous small correspondence. Signed Todd AIEP.

Brun Murdoch Miralai (Brigadier), Comm. Egyptian Cavalry, Sarras". Envelope cancelled by WADI-HALFA/CAMP and charged 2 1/2d. Interesting contents for a cholera epidemic.

Stamps tied by TRINIDAD datestamps with red TRINIDAD/PAID cds alongside. Front shows blue oval FORWARDED BY/O'CONNOR BROTHERS/PORT OF SPAIN/TRINIDAD, red LONDON/PAID transit and red ANGL/AMB.CALAIS French entry marking. A RARE and attractive printed matter item.

✉ TRINIDAD. 1873 (Aug 26). Cover endorsed "Via Panama" addressed to "Admiral Cochrane, Commander in Chief, Pacific Station" ( located in Valparaiso) franked by (1d.) carmine and 4d. grey cancelled by Trinidad cds in black. Cover then docketed (at Panama ?) and noted as for "Ship Repulse". Reverse with St. Thomas transit cds (Sept 2) and manuscript '4' (pence) of split rate. A very rare and appealing cover. Ex collection Sir John Marriott.

✉ ZANZIBAR. 1917. MARGAO (Portuguese India) to ZANZIBAR. Unpaid cover, letter endorsed "P.P" (Postage Paid) but no stamps. Taxed on arrival "5 annas".

✉ GRECIA: ISLAS JONICAS. 1824 (October 17). SIRA (Greece) to KOKOLATA (Erissos, Cephalonia) with double ring ISOLA DI CEFALONIA. Pierced and fumigated.

✉ GRECIA: ISLAS JONICAS. 1824 (June 15). MISSOLONGHI (Greece) to KLISMATA( Livorno, Cephalonia) with red double ring ISOLA DI CEFALONIA. Desinfected.

✉ GRECIA: ISLAS JONICAS. 1826 (Nov. 18). PARGA (Greece) to MAKRIOTIKA (Pilaros, Cephalonia). Entire letter sent via Paxas with circle POSTA DELL'ISOLA DI PAXO. Hand written in front of the Post Office "FROM ALBANIA" indication of origen. At his time the City of Parga was part of the ottoman Empire along with Albania. A rare cover.

✉ GRECIA: ISLAS JONICAS. Ed. . 1826. Cover showing fine strike of the OFFICIO DELLA POSTA GENERALE/CORFU Coat-of-Arms cachet from the British Administration on Corfu, sent to CANADA via London and the Falmouth Packet service to Halifax. Front shows bold ´3/6´ British debit in manuscript, HALIFAX/SE 18/1826 arrival datestamp, plus Canadian accounting in red ink resulting in ´6N4´ total postage due. An extremely rare and remarkable cover.

✉ GRECIA: ISLAS JONICAS. 1828 (Dec. 12). METHONI (Greece) to MICHALITSATA. Entire letter send via Catacolo and Zante with double ring ISALE DI ZANTE. "3 d." paid to destination, hand written in red of the Post Office "DA CATACOLO". Desinfected in Zante.

✉ GRECIA: ISLAS JONICAS. 1829 (April 5). ZANTE to TZANATA (Arakli, Cephalonia). Entire letter with double ring ISOLA DI ZANTE, on verso ZANTE/17 APRILE 1829 (the earliest known from Zante) and scroll CEFALONIA 18 APRILE 1829 on front.

✉ HAITI. 1842 (12 Mayo). GONAIVES (Haiti) to FRANCE. Hand carried to Boston (on back manuscript forwarded agent). Circulated via London and París. British red PACKET LETTER mark. Notation inside letter "Duplicate via United States, original via Port au Prince". A very interesting item.

✉ HONDURAS. 1815-1865. CORREO MILITAR. Colección montada en hojas de álbum con descripciones, consta de un total de 33 cartas y 2 documentos. Una carta del periodo Colonial (1815) con indicación manuscrita "E.S.M." (en sus manos), dos cartas del periodo de la Federación de Estados Centroamericanos (1821-1839) y el resto de cartas del periodo Independiente de Honduras, nueve de ellas con marca y las otras con indicaciones manuscritas del correo urgente tales como "Cordillera Urgente", "Cordillera", "Cordillera Violenta" etc... Muy interesante conjunto y de gran rareza. Ex. Leo J. Harris.

✉ HUNGRIA. 1871 (Dec 23). Cover from PESTH to PARIS bearing, on reverse, five Lithographed 1871 5kr. rose red, all tied in transit by VIENNA cds's (Dec 24) and by French arrival cds. An extraordinary and rare cover, opened for better Exhibit display.

✉ IRAK. 1870 (May 24th). Entire letter written from MARDIN on the Iraq / Turkish border, via AMERICAN MISSION/CONSTANTINOPLE (June 15th) with blue cachet, thence via American Mission in New York, franked by Usa Banknote 3 c. green tied in black and sent on to South Hadley /PA (July 11th). Rare and most unusual entire.

✉ ITALIA ANTIGUOS ESTADOS: LOMBARDO-VENECIA. 1852. SICILE a OEDENBURG (Hungria). Carta certificada con pareja del 15 cts. naranja en reverso y 45 cts. azul en anverso, al dorso restos de una CRUZ DE SAN ANDREA doble que desgraciadamente ha sido parcialmente arrancada al abrir la carta. Muy interesante combinación de franqueo.

✉ ITALIA ANTIGUOS ESTADOS: LOMBARDO-VENECIA. 1853. CREMA a VERONA. 30 cents. castaño esquina de pliego. ESPECTACULAR EJEMPLAR en carta.
