✉ GUADALUPE. 1872 (May 28). Internal cover to POINTE A PITRE franked by imperforate 1871 Ceres 10 c. bistre brown in a horizontal pair tied by dotted lozenge in black. Scarce GUADELOUPE/MOULE datestamp and framed P.P. at top. A scarce and attractive cover.

✉ GUADALUPE. Ce. 14+22. 1875 (July 16). Entire letter from MOULE to POINTE A PITRE franked by General Issues 1872-77 Ceres 1c. olive green in a marginal horizontal strip of five and single small figures 15c. bistre all tied by dotted lozenge in black with GUADELOUPE-MOULE cds below. Reverse with Pointe A Pitre cds of receipt (same day). A remarkable and rare entire.

✉ GUADALUPE. 1883. Grand Bourg unpaid postage due folded letter to FRANCE, posted from the smaller Island of Marie Galante with a very rare use of the larger size GUADELOUPE/GRAND BOURG (MIE. GTE)/9 FEVR. 83 double-circle cds on entire folded letter, a confirming POINTE-A-PITRE transit of the same date on the reverse, 10 c. black and 40 c. black French postage dues (Yvert #15, 19) tied on arrival in Paris by triangular due handstamp paying double the 25 c. U.P.U. rate, soiling to the back of the cover, very fine. DUBUS records that this rare postmark was used from January 1888 to 1892, this cover establishes that it was used far earlier than that; Ex-Grabowski.

Cover to RENNE endorsed "Par le Mazagran" struck with extremely rare local octagonal framed handstamp PD in black (repeated strike on reverse), straight line GUAYANE FRANCAISE in black at right and OUTRE-MER/ST. MARTIN ILE DE RE entry marking. Reverse with manuscript confirmation of payment and despatch signed by Postmaster. Very rare, only two covers known.

✉ INDIA FRANCESA. Ce. 18+33. 1881 (March 19). Entire letter to BORDEAUX franked by General Issues mixed franking of 1872-77 10c. brown on rose and Type Sage imperf. 15c. grey tied by fine INDE-PONDICHERY cds's in blue. An attractive and scarce entire.

Small envelope to FRANCE carried at Military Concessionary rate, franked by General Issues Type Sage 15c. blue tied by rare COCHINCHINE/SOC-TRANG cds with repeated strike below. Octagonal CORR. D'ARMEES-SAIGON in black alongside (July 7). An extremely scarce cover.

✉ LEVANTE: CORREO FRANCES. 1862. VARNA (Bulgaria) a GÉNOVA. Circulada con sellos franceses de 10 cts. bistre y 40 cts. naranja (2) (Yv. 13, 16), mat. ROMBO DE PUNTOS 5103 en azul y fechador VARNA/TURQ. D'EUROPE. A la llegada marca PIROSCAFI/POSTALI/FRANCESI. Excelente calidad.

✉ MARTINICA. Ed. . 1843 (Sept 29). Entire letter from ST PIERRE to village outside BRUSSELS via a plethora of different manuscript rate markings and framed British PACKET LETTER and unframed SOUTHAMPTON-SHIP LETTER and SOUTHAMPTON cds in black; thence to BELGIUM (June 24, 1844) with large red rate DEBOURS ET ETRANGERS handstamp filled in manuscript with amount due. Because of the sum charged the letter was refused by the recipient. Opens well for display. An extraordinary entire and believed an unique usage.

✉ MARTINICA. 1873 (July 11). Entire letter to France at double rate bearing 1871-72 40c. orange on yellowish (2) and 1872-77 5c. green on blue green (two pairs) for 1 franc rate; all tied by MQE lozenge with St. Pierre cds below. Blue St. Nazaire entry mark on front (July 29) and adhesives further cancelled on arrival to prevent re-use. A fine entire. Scott 14,19.

✉ MARTINICA. 1895 (May 30). Military Concession rate cover to PARIS franked by 1892 15c. blue tied by scarce MORNE-ROUGE / MARTINIQUE cds, repeated strike alongside at right and octagonal COR. D'ARMÉES / SAINT PIERRE undated cachet at right. Reverse with Commander's cachet and signature alongside Saint Pierre and Paris cds's. A fine and scarce cover. Ceres 36.

✉ MONACO. 1717 (12 Julio). MÓNACO a SARLAT. Marca "DE MONACO" manuscrita y tasa de 12 sous. Muy rara en fecha tan temprana.

✉ MONACO. 1740 (6 Julio). LIVORNO a MARSELLA. Encaminada vía Mónaco, marca manuscrita "DE MONACO". Magnífica y rara en fecha muy temprana.

✉ NUEVA CALEDONIA. 1870 (December 16). Small envelope to PARIS with Eagles 5 c. pair (rare used in N. Caledonia) + 20 c. blue + 40 c. orange, all with margins in places, all tied (by indentation or to the cover) by mainly very fine Noumea dotted diamonds with fine matching boxed PD and fair to fine 2 ring NLLE CALEDONIE/*NOUMEA* cds alongside, but also unusually also having a fine handstruck "4" (decimes) arrival charge (for the extra Brindisi route charge) cancelled en route; presumably because the Marseille route had just become available again with the raising of the Siege of Paris? Very few covers have been recorded with the Eagle 5 c. value used in New Caledonia. Cert. I.F. BRUN.

✉ NUEVA CALEDONIA. Ce. 32. 1877 (Sept 1). Cover to NANTES franked by General Issues Type Sage 10c. green on greenish, two pairs, tied by NOUMEA datestamps in black. Marseille entry marking in red (Nov 19) alongside and arrivals on reverse. Slight ink stain on one adhesive but a scarce franking.

✉ REUNION. Ce. 7+17. 1874 (March 7). Newspaper Wrapper from ST. DENIS to BORDEAUX franked by General Issues mixed franking 1871-72 1c. olive green pair and 1872-77 Ceres 5c. green on greenish tied by dotted lozenge and REUNION-ST. DENIS cds. Red PD below and octagonal COL. FR. V SUEZ in red alongside. A rare example of the 12 centimes rate.

✉ SENEGAL. Ce. 60. 1876. Cover, probably mailed by serving Soldier in SENEGAL to GRAULHET (France) bearing soldier's concessionary rate franking of 1871-75 ceres 25c. blue tied on landing with MARSEILLE cds (May 8) with superb framed CORR. / DES ARMEES handstamp in red. Reverse with Marseille and Graulhet cds's. A scarce cover.

✉ SIRIA. 1920 (13 Januray). Registered cover sent from HALEP to TUNISIA bearing extremely rare Syria Arabian Government 1 piastre (Scott 49) used together with EEF Palestine British Military Occupation 5 mil. (2) (Scott 8) tied by bilingual octagonal HALEP 8 postmark alongside Ottoman registration cachet.

✉ TUNEZ. 1864 (Feb 21). Entire letter from Tunis with double ring French P.O. despatch cds in black, sent unpaid via Marseille to London (Feb 29) with fine strike of "FR/1F 78c" Exchange marking in black. Charged 6d. due in manuscript. Very rare.
