✉ NUEVA ZELANDA. 1857. COOK ISLANDS. Entire letter datelined at top "11 Mars 1857, Mangia" addressed to the Governor of TAHITI in French, letter mentions the Brig Ocean under Captain Lyons, with three further pages of the entire ending in instructions that the letter would be handed to the Captain who was to return to Tahiti from Mangia after the journey. Rare and very early entire from this remote outpost.

Registered oval d.s., ROME arrival c.d.s. on reverse. Rare and most attractive. (S.G. 17, 18).

A scarce and colorful Registered cover.

Cover from PENANG to VIENNA bearing Straits 1867-72 4c. bright rose and 30c. claret (each with company control cachets in blue) tied by CIRCULAR DOTTED cancellation in black; red PENANG despatch cds alongside. Red framed P.D. on front and reverse with Brindisi (July 1) and Vienna arrival cds (July 4). A rare and fine cover.

Cover from SINGAPORE to MARSEILLE franked by France Type Sage 2c. brown, 3c. yellow buff and 10c. black on lavender in a horizontal strip of three, all tied by circular LIGNE N / PAQ. FR. NO. 4 datestamps (March 8) in black applied on the Paquebot ´Ava´. EXCEPTIONAL and RARE usage, believed to be unique with this franking from the Far East. SINGAPUR to MARSEILLE envelope franked with french 2 cts., 3 cts. and three 10 cents. stamps tied by LIGNE N/8-MARS-79/PAQ. FR. Nº 4 on the SINGAPUR scale of the french ship "Ava". Very rare and the unique known with this franking from the Far East.

Sullivan, Skilled Shipwr., HMS Euraylus, Suakim" franked with Great Britain 1880/81 2d. deep rose (SG. 168a), tied by British numeral obliterator 17 of Birmingham and reverse with Birmingham arrival cds (March 4). Some minor aging but a scarce cover from this famous small correspondence. Signed Todd AIEP.

Brun Murdoch Miralai (Brigadier), Comm. Egyptian Cavalry, Sarras". Envelope cancelled by WADI-HALFA/CAMP and charged 2 1/2d. Interesting contents for a cholera epidemic.

Cover showing fine strike of the OFFICIO DELLA POSTA GENERALE/CORFU Coat-of-Arms cachet from the British Administration on Corfu, sent to CANADA via London and the Falmouth Packet service to Halifax. Front shows bold ´3/6´ British debit in manuscript, HALIFAX/SE 18/1826 arrival datestamp, plus Canadian accounting in red ink resulting in ´6N4´ total postage due. An extremely rare and remarkable cover.

Franqueo mixto con la rara tarifa inglesa a Grecia de 6 1/2 p. (válida sólo de 1.7 a 31.12.75). Franqueo mixto y uno de los usos más tempranos de los sellos de tasa.
