Fine and rare double variety cover. B.P.A certificate.

Al llegar fuera de la saca con el correo oficial se mataselló el sello con aspas a tinta. EXTRAORDINARIAMENTE RARA. Cert. GRAUS.

✉ COSTA DE ORO. 1872 (Nov 10). Envelope, crested 'Spero' on reverse, addressed from Cape Coast Castle to Edinburgh by D. Patrick Chalmers, with superb "PAID AT CAPE COAST CASTLE" double ring cds in red (Macrae 8). Rated "5" pence in red manuscript due to G.P.O. for ½ ounce rate and "1" penny inland. 'Paid / Liverpool / Br. Packet' cds in red of transit (Dec 2) and reverse with Edinburgh arrival cds. Very scarce: the datestamp was issued to the Colony in October 1871. Biro marks at left, nevertheless rare and attractive cover.

Africa' cds (Dec 23). Readdressed to Portsmouth with eventual arrival cds Jan 29, 1898. A fine and scarce cover.

✉ MALTA. 1814 (Nov. 19). SPANISH POST OFFICE (General Post Office in all the Middle East). MALTA to MADRID. Cover with original contents sent from the General Spanish Consul in Malta to the Duke of San Carlos (General Supervisor of the Spanish Post). Very interesting text, includes the Post accounts of the Middle East courier (years 1812 to 1814) and a rare manuscript Bill of Exchange of 200.000 Reales de vellón, drawn against the Supervisor of the Post Office. Extraordinary document of Postal History in very good condition.

✉ MAURICIO. 1806 (April 6). Entire letter from 'Ile de France' to Rennes, France landed in Spain with red straight line 'Vizcaya'; two line 'Espagne/Par Bayonne' in black and reverse with Rennes arrival in black. A rare entire from Mauritius and a most unusual route through Spain to France.
