Cover from Crewkerne to Constantinople, TURKEY endorsed ´ViaMarseilles´bearing single Embossed 1847-54 1s green tied by numeral obliterator and by Calais transit. Correctly rated for ¼ ounce but found to be over-weight and struck with ´Insufficiently-Stamped´ and charged ´26´ (decimes) due on delivery. Unusual and appealing cover. SG 55.

✉ GRAN BRETAÑA. Ed. . 1857. Cover used to DUNOON bearing 1 d. red stars cancelled by the v. scarce GLENDARUEL local blue hs with backstamps of CAIRNDOW & DUNDOON. Back flap missing. Rare.

✉ GRAN BRETAÑA. Ed. . 1857(May 16). Cover to Amsterdam franked by very fine strip of four 1857 4d rose all tied by London ´14´ numeral obliterators. Reverse with arrival cds in red, a fine multiple. SG 66.

✉ GRAN BRETAÑA. Sg. 71 (4). 1859. LONDON to OPORTO (Portugal). 1sh. green (4) with red CROWN/REGISTERED and REGISTERED marks. Charged on arrival "910" reis. Filing fold affecting two stamps. A RARE franking.

Cover via Belgium to St.Petersburg, RUSSIA at 10d rate (under ½ ounce) bearing 1d red plate 78 and 1862 9d straw tied by West Hartlepool-023 duplexes and also tied by red ´Aus England per Aachen´ transit and blue ´Wfr.3´ handstamp (silver groschen credit). Entire letter to Piura, PERU franked at 2s rate for under ½ ounce endorsed ´pr West Indian Mail via Southampton´bearing 1867 1s green plate 4 pair tied by Liverpool duplexes with British Post Office Panama cds in black and straight line ´Paita´ handstamp on reverse, displaying well. Reverse with London arrival cds's (April 26) in black and in red. Docketed over address with 'Rec'd April 26, 1869 April 1 3 months cruise expect to arrive at Aden about the end of May'.

Franked by Great Britain 1881 1d. lilac tied on arrival by Foreign Branch 'FB' obliterator in black and charged a further '1d.' due on receipt (Nov 26). Stamp excised and replaced. Cert. BPA (2006).

LUCIA with arrival mark 11/FE 1863 on reverse, inside pre-pinted BARBADOS PRICES CURRENT (not complete), entire some marks, otherwise very fine.

OHMS envelope (a little trauncated at left) registered to MEXICO, bearing 1/2 d. dull green and 3 d. grey in combination with 1874 6 d. dull mauve, all clearly tied by HAMILTON/BERMUDA double ring, d.s., showing New York Exchange and Mexico registration labels with, on reverse, PUEBLA arrival datestamp. A most unusual destination.
