Entire letter written from BORDEAUX to CALCUTTA endorsed "Elizabeth" with reverse showing superb strike of framed KEDGREE-POST OFFICE-SHIP LETTER in black, Calcutta GPO datestamp (Oct 31) of arrival and two line rate INLND.PSTG (5)/SHIP (2) due. A fine and rare entire.

Entire letter from India to London, endorsed ´per Overland Mail via Falmouth´ at top, oval framed ´INDIA´ on front and, on arrival readdressed on to Oxford with GB 1841 1d red brown tied by black Maltese Cross. Reverse bears London, Oxford and eventual Pewsey arrivals cds. Rare and interesting entire. SG 8.

Long entire letter from MADRAS endorsed ´Per Steamer via Marseilles´ with double arc cds of despatch; mailed as Consignee´s letter via Ship´s Captain to LONDON and via Forwarding Agents in the Strand, franked on arrival with GB 1 d. red tied by LONDON duplex to Regent Street. Unusual usage and an appealing entire.

✉ INDIA INGLESA. Ed. . 1858. Cover to his GRACE the Duke of Norfolk at ARUNDEL with CALCUTTA despatch on reverse and good strike of scarce SAVED FROM THE WRECK/OF THE AVA in black. The Avawas wrecked near TRINCOMALEE in CEYLON on 16 February 1858 and the Mails mostly arrived in LONDON in June 1858.

Framed INDIA/PAID in red and reverse with Lahore transit (July 17) and Neath arrival cds (Aug 21). A fine cover.

Originally directed via Brindisi and readdressed on arrival in London (May 19) to Versailles with GB 3d. rose pl. 6 tied by London duplex. An interesting entire.

Cover to BEDFORD, HERTS (UK) endorsed "Via Brindisi", franked by single usage of 8a. carmine rose tied by scarce and fine strike of CAMP OF EXERCISE-2nd DIVISION-102 duplex in black. Endorsed at left "dated from Camp Goudal" with reverse showing oval 'NWP', Bombay cds in red and Bedford arrival (Feb 10) cds. Rare. SG.

Cover to PARIS franked by single 1866-1878 4a. green tied by NUMERAL OBLITERATOR and manuscript, underpaid with circular "T" mark in black (an adhesive was applied and had dropped off). The "T" mark erased in red crayon and reverse with SEA POST OFFICE-B cds and Paris arrival. Manuscript PAID 60 cts. at lower left of an unusual cover.

Large part registered cover from BUSHIRE to AUSTRALIA, endorsed "On Service/IEF "D" with sender's name at lower left, franked at 5 a. by India 1911-22 1/2 a. green vertical pair and single, 1 a. carmine and 2 a. 6 p. ultramarine (1913 type), tied by three fair to fine strikes of type Z4 ("C 16") BUSHIRE/REG. single ring cds. Blue registration label at centre. Slight faults (part of back missing), nevertheless a remarkable usage, with a three-colour franking. Scarce.

A superb item of military mail.

A superb item of military mail.
