✉ BRASIL. 1799 (Nov. 25). MARANHAO to LISBON. Entire letter with MARANHAO mark, first rate of 80 reis, carried by the "Galera Unica" (Portuguese North Line). An extraordinary cover, one of only three known mails from Brazil in XVIII Century after the 1798 decree, establishing the official Maritime Post Service between Portugal and Brazil and the oldest cover known from Maranhao. ✉ BRASIL. 1812 (Feb. 14 and Oct. 25). LISBON to RÍO DE JANEIRO. Two entire letters with LISBOA mark, rated 80 reis (first rate) and 120 reis (from 4/8 to 6/8 ounces).

✉ BRASIL. 1813 (July 29). BAHÍA to LISBON. Entire letter with green CORREYO DE Bª mark, paying 80 reis rate.

✉ BRASIL. 1814 (Feb. 11). RÍO DE JANEIRO to BARCELONA (Spain). Entire letter with Rº JANRº mark sent via Lisbon, paying 80 reis from Brazil to Portugal and 14 reales and 7 cuartos from Portugal to Spain. VERY RARE, one of only two covers known to Spain in this period.

✉ BRASIL. 1815 (May 24). CALCUTTA (India) to LISBON. Entire letter sent via Brazil. In Río de Janeiro the Post Officer added BENGALA-RJ 160 reis which corresponded to 80 reis for the incoming mail and 80 reis for the voyage to Lisbon aboard the South Line Galera "José Fama". Extraordinary cover. A most exotic route for a very early mail CALCUTTA-CAPE OF GOOD HOPE-RIO DE JANEIRO-LISBON. Col. Ex-Santos.

✉ BRASIL. 1816 (Nov. 29). BAHÍA to LISBON. Entire letter with green CORREYO DA BA and PAGOU PORTE DO CORREIO, manuscript Pago 80 reis. Upon arrival the Portuguese Post stamped FRANCA, carried by "Navº Imperador". VERY RARE, only three letters known with prepaid mail markings. Col. Ex-Santos.

✉ BRASIL. 1817 (Oct. 22). LOANDA (Angola) to BAHÍA. Entire letter with LOANDA mark, paying 80 reis first maritime rate. EXTREMELY RARE, only two covers known from ANGOLA in this period.

✉ BRASIL. 1819 (Sept. 6). PERNAMBUCO to SAO MIGUEL (Azores Islands). Entire letter with oval red PERNAMBUCO mark. A very unusual destination at that time.

✉ BRASIL. 1815 (Nov. 14). RÍO DE JANEIRO to PORTO. Entire letter with sepia Rº DE JANRº mark, 80 reis single rate correccted to 150 reis, endorsed 2ª Via.

✉ BRASIL. 1819 (Nov. 6). PERNAMBUCO to LISBON. Entire letter with oval red PERNAMBUCO mark, paying 80 reis rate.

✉ BRASIL. 1819 (January 14). PARÁ to LISBON. Entire letter with sepia PARA mark, rated 80 reis, carried by Galera "Bom Fim".

✉ BRASIL. 1819 (Feb. 6 and April 4). RÍO DE JANEIRO to MACERATA (Italy). Two entire letters sent via Lisbon, Firenze and Bologna. One with CORº MARITIMO and POR LISBOA marks. A VERY RARE destination, only three covers known to Italy at that time, all from the same correspondence.

✉ BRASIL. 1820 (March 14). PERNAMBUCO to BRAGA (Portugal). Entire letter with CORR. MARITIMO mark applied in Lisbon, rated 80 reis.

✉ BRASIL. 1820 (Dec. 22). INSURANCE POLICY from RÍO DE JANEIRO to BENGUELLA (Angola) for the amount of 48000 reis in case the mail was not delivered. The sender paid a 480 reis premium. Oldest Knwon. UNIQUE.

✉ BRASIL. 1824-25 (June 29 and May 9). BAHÍA to LISBON. Two covers sent privately via GIBRALTAR. One posted in the Spanish mail at S. ROQUE and circulated overland to Lisbon, rated 90 reis on arrival. A couple of interesting covers.

✉ BRASIL. 1828 (March 10). PERNAMBUCO to LISBON. Entire letter with PERNAMBUCO mark, rated 80 reis, carried by "Oceano".

✉ BRASIL. 1828 (April 17). PARÁ to LISBON. Entire letter with yellow PARA mark, rated 80 reis. VERY RARE, only three covers known with this mark in yellow.

✉ BRASIL. 1834 (Oct. 29). MARANHAO to PORTO. Entire letter with oval black MARANHAO mark, charged 160 reis double maritime rate and 40 reis for the overland trip to Porto.

✉ BRASIL. 1839 (Jun. 18). RÍO DE JANEIRO to SCHIEDAM (Holland). Folded letter carried by the steamer "Jorge Maria", sent via Hamburg with SCHIFFS BRIEF-POST/HAMBURG cds.

✉ BRASIL. 1844 (March 13). SANTOS to BUENOS AIRES (Argentina). 30 reis black and 90 reis black tied by circular CORREIO DE SANTOS, 120 reis franking to pay the first maritime rate to Río de Janeiro. In Buenos Aires a delivery rate of 20 ctvos. was charged. An EXTRAORDINARY cover only five covers addressed abroad with "Bulls Eye" are known. Ex. Burrus, Hubbard, Wittie and Santos. Cert. B. ✉ BRASIL. 1845 (April 4). MARANHAO to BARCELONA (Spain). Entire letter carried by the ship "Sn. Joaquin" with red YNDIAS mark. Charged 5 reales on arrival.

✉ BRASIL. 1845 (July 14). SANTOS to BUENOS AIRES. Folded letter franked with two "Inclinados" 60 reis stamps (cut by half when opening the letter). Charged 10 pesos on arrival. Faults but a VERY RARE franking.

✉ BRASIL. 1845-48. PERNAMBCO to SPAIN. Two covers, one sent via Great Britain rated 10 reales on arrival and the other sent by Spanish mail with red YNDIAS mark and rated 5 reales.

✉ BRASIL. 1846 (July 20). PERNAMBUCO to PALERMO (Italy). Forwarded to London, charged 2/- 9 d. to Palermo.

✉ BRASIL. 1846 (August 15). NEW YORK to RÍO GRANDE. Entire letter carried by the ship "Katleen" to Río de Janeiro where the Forwarder COLEMAN HUTTON & Co. posted it with two pairs of "inclinados" of 60 reis types I and II. A triple maritime rate of 240 reis from Río de Janeiro to Río Grande. VERY RARE, only three mails originated abroad with "inclinados" are known and unique usage of a combination of "inclinados" types I+II. Col. Ex-Santos.

✉ BRASIL. 1851 August 29). VILA DE FRANCA to PORTO. Entire letter with a pair of 60 reis paying the double overland rate to Río de Janeiro, carried by RMSP ship "Severn", rated 180 reis and 40 reis for the overland trip from Lisbon to Porto.

✉ BRASIL. 1851 (March 28). BERN (Switzerland) to BAHIA. Folded letter sent via England to Río de Janeiro, charged 120 reis on arrival and forwarded to Bahia by the Swiss Consul. SCARCE.

✉ BRASIL. 1851 (May 29). PORTO ALEGRE to LISBON. 30 reis black block of four to pay the domestic rate to Río de Janeiro. In Lisbon the double rate of 160 reis was placed alongside with the blue C. Est. de N. mark.

✉ BRASIL. 1854. U.S.A. to MARANHAO. Large envelope from the Department of State of United States sent to the Consul in Maranhao. The cover is forwarded to Belem do Para for "Bishop Norris & Co" and sent to the Brazilian mail in GRAMPARA. A very interesting cover.

✉ BRASIL. 1855. RÍO DE JANEIRO to LISBON. Folded letter with oval COMPANHIA DE PAQUETES A VAPOR/LUSO-BRASILEIRA/RIO DE JANEIRO. Charged 200 reis on arrival.

✉ BRASIL. 1860 (June 30). RÍO GRANDE to STOCKHOLM. Entire letter sent via Hamburg, charged 45 ore.

✉ BRASIL. 1862 (July 16). RÍO GRANDE to SPAIN. Folded letter sent via London. Paid 2/- with CADIZ/FRANCO mark on arrival.

✉ BRASIL. 1865. PORTO to PERNAMBUCO. Folded letter franked with 25 reis paying the internal rate to Lisbon, carried on by English ship to Río de Janeiro paying 150 reis for the maritime rate, handwritten inside. P. TRASATLANTICO circular mark.

✉ BRASIL. 1870 (June 13). BAHÍA to LIVERPOOL. Cover franked with three 80 reis stamps, paying 240 reis according to the 1867 rates regulation and charged 6 pence paying the Lamport & Holt maritime company fee. VERY RARE, only three covers known prepaying the 240 reis rate according to the 1867 rates regulation and the first mail known under the June 3rd 1870 L&H contract. Col. Ex-Santos.

✉ BRASIL. 1873 (Sept. 24). RÍO DE JANEIRO to BUENOS AIRES. Entire letter franked with 100 reis green, according to the 1867 rates regulation.

✉ BRASIL. 1874 (January 27). PERNAMBUCO to BUENOS AYRES. Entire letter franked with 100 reis and 200 reis stamps, charged 4 reales on arrival.
