Mailed via British P.O. in Vera Cruz (Sept 4) and English Packet via London (Oct 2) and struck there with framed GB/1F 60c. Accountancy marking in black. Marked at upper left "31" (grams) and charged 40 decimes due on receipt.

Entire letter written from Guadalajara and mailed from Mexico City with vertical strip of three Mexico District 1861 1r. black on green to Madrid (Cortina correspondence); via British P.O. in Vera Cruz (May 2), London (May 28) and arrival cds also on reverse (June 1), charged 12 reales due in red. A remarkable and rare entire. Signed Todd. Certificate MEPSI. Scott 7.

✉ MEXICO. 1873. TAMPILO a VERAZCRUZ. Circulada con sello de 25 ctvos. rojo y sello británico de 4 d. naranja, pl. 13 mat. C63 y fechador de doble círculo de la B.P.O. TAMPILO. MUY RARA. La mayoría de cartas conocidas llevan un sello mexicano de 12 ctvos. azul, la combinación con el sello de 25 ctvos. es muy rara (doble porte).

Latest recorded usage of British Crown 'Paid At Vera Cruz' at left and corresponding manuscript '4d.' in red crayon. Charged 3 reales due in black on arrival (Feb 6). An extraordinary entire.
