Cover to Wechold near Hoya from Holzminden franked by imperforate 1862 3sgr. rose and rouletted 1864 1sgr. yellow tied by '24' obliterators. Reverse with Hoya cds in blue and TPO Cassel/Hannover' in blue. An unusual mixed issue franking. Scott 11,16.

✉ ALEMANIA ANTIGUOS ESTADOS: CONFEDERACION DEL NORTE. 1868 (April 28). Registered cover from HAMBURG bearing four colour franking of NGR 1868 ½gr. orange, 1gr. rose and 2gr. blue, with Prussia goldbeater's skin 10sgr. rose all tied by HAMBURG cds's. Slight faults but a rare usage. Scott 3-5 and 21.

✉ ALEMANIA ANTIGUOS ESTADOS: CONFEDERACION DEL NORTE. 1869 (July 1). Registered cover to Paris with delightful three colour mixed currency/issue franking of 1868 rouletted ½gr. orange and strip of three 1gr. rose with 7kr. blue (2, both overlapping the edge of cover) all tied by Frankfurt boxed and dated handstamps. Rare. Scott 3,4,10.

Delightful printed illustrated envelope (pictures of little Devils etc.) used from "Wilhelm Wille of Hamburg" to Bern, Switzerland with 1868 1sgr. rose and 1 sgr. rose postal stationery cut-out, tied by neat Hamburg cds's. Rare and early advertising envelope. Scott 4.

Cover to FRANCE, franked with crossed-line background 3Sgr yellow King Frederick and 6pf orange Coat of Arms issues (Mi 12,15), all cancelled by framed VALLENDAR datestamp, with additional strike alongside. Front shows red framed PD handstamp plus PRUSSE-FORBACH/AMB.F French entry marking, while reverse bears PARIS A BESANCON ambulant and SALINS arrival cds. A very fine and scarce mixed issue franking.

✉ ALEMANIA ANTIGUOS ESTADOS: PRUSIA. Ed. . 1866. Cover franked with Prussia 6 pf. and pair 3 Sgr. Eagle (Mi 15, 18), overpaying the 6 1/4 Sgr. (15 c.) rate to the UNITED STATES under the Bremen treaty. Stamps tied by blue BERLIN P.E.No.12 cds, and front shows blue manuscript ´f4 1/2´ Sgr. credit plus red HAMBURG PACKET/PAID cds with integral ´3´ cents credit to the U.S. Reverse bears additional HAMBURG transit. A very fine and colorful transatlantic cover, carried by the HAPAG steamship Germania.
