TAHITI. 1885 (May 16). Registered cover to Bordeaux franked by General Issues 1881 25c. yellow on straw pair and 1fr. olive green tied by fine 'Papeete/Taiti' cds's with framed 'R' alongside. Bordeaux arrival (July 10) on reverse of a fine and very scarce cover. Scott 53,59.

TAHITI. Ce. 51. 1892 (Jan). Cover at Military Concession rate franked by Dubois 1881 15c. blue (fault) tied by bold octagonal CORR. D'ARMEES-PAPEETE in black with repeated strike alongside. Military cachet at right and reverse with arrival cds's (Feb 24). Some faults to edge of envelope but rare.

TAHITI. Yv. 12 (2) + 24 (3). 1893. PAPEETE to NOUMEA. 15 cts. blue pair and strip of three of two different issues with PAPEETE/TAHITI cancel. The envelope is somewat reduced at right due to roungh opening, the stamps are in perfect condition. Cert. S. SISMONDO.

Fine and rare item of postage due mail.

Black COOK ISLANDS-RAROTONGA arrival cds at left (Sept 16) and reverse with Papeete transit (Sept 1) cds. Adhesive creased but a rare cover. Ceres 8.

TAHITI. 1899. Cover with contens, datalined HIKUERU small island (only 5,11 km2) located 700 km. east of Tahiti send with 10 cts. black and blue stamp (defects in origen) to TAIOHAE cancelled on arrival. A very rare cover probably the earliest known sent from this remote location of the French Polinesia.
