✉ NEPAL. 1911 (Jan.). KATHMANDU to POKHARA. Registered and A.R. double-weight cover franked with two 8 pice red and 16 pice, bearing one of only two known parcel labels of Setting 1, with the erroneous inscription of the last word ("No." instead of "Tola"). The postmaster manually corrected the erroneous character to "Tola". The word "Parcel" (top left) was corrected to read "Registry". VERY RARE.
Lot 745
✉ NEPAL. 1926 (Feb.). From a Post Office near POKHARA (Western Nepal) to KATHMANDU. Double-weight registered cover franked with 4 pice green, 8 pice red and 16 pice violet, cancelled with an unrecorded postmaster's ink seal, addressed to the Commander-in-Chief of Nepal, Bhim Shamsher. The excess weight was caused by a rupee coin that was originally enclosed, as a sign of respect for the addressee. EXTREMELY RARE franking and cancellation. Ex W. Hellrig.

✉ NEPAL. 1924 (Jan.). SIRAHA to KATHMANDU. Registered and A.R. cloth cover franked with 4 pice green and strip of three 16 pice violet. The cover weighed 7 tolas presumably due to the enclosure of coins, totalling 52 pice. This is the highest known franking of the 1907 issue.

✉ NEPAL. 1932 (March). DAHABAN to KATHMANDU. Registered AR cover addressed to the Maharaja, franked with fourteen 2 pice stamps of the 1907 issue, and a 4 pice of the 1930 issue. A unique franking.

✉ NEPAL. Mi. 24, 54. 1944 (Sept.). TATAPANI to KATHMANDU. Registered cover bearing a mixed franking of the 1907 issue 16 pice and the local 1941 issue 8 pice. Only four covers are recorded with mixed frankings of the 1907 and 1941 issues. This is the latest known commercial use of the 1907 issue.
