LEVANTE: CORREO ALEMAN. 1908. Picture postcard to Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA franked '20 para' on 10pf tied by “Jaffa * Deutsche Post” datestamp. Reverse also bears boxed “Aus Jerusalem/Deutsche Post” cachet of provenance + oval 'Jerusalem Hotel' cachet. Very fine and attractive.

MARRUECOS ALEMAN. 1894 (Dec 5). 3pf. green postal stationery Newspaper wrapper used from Mogador (Essaouria) to Stuttgart, with manuscript 'Mogador 5/12/94'at left. Up-rated with 1888 3pf. brown and 10pf. carmine tied by framed 'AUS/WEST AFRIKA' handstamps in black. Rare and unusual usage.

Oval DEUTSCHE SEEPOST-LINIE-HAMBURG/WESTAFRIKA-IX datestamp on front (May 17) and manuscript "Züruck..." (Return to sender) and two line cachet AGENTUR DER WOERMAN LINIE/IN SAFFI in violet. Reverse with German Consulate in Saffi handstamp in violet, Tangier cds and Munich return cds (May 30). A most interesting and very rare mark of the Woerman Linie in Saffi.

GRAN BRETAÑA. 1853 (Dec. 26). Entire letter prepaid to JEREZ LA FRONTERA (Spain), endorsed 'via Southampton, per Steamer to Cadiz' at top. London despatch in red on front and annotated prepaid at 2s. 2d. in red ink. The entire addressed care of 'Don Pedro Lembeye' in Cadiz who paid the '20 R.' charge and placed the entire with Spanish Private Courier Company with PAUSADELA / Y / COMPAÑIA cachet in red. An EXTREMELY RARE example of this combination of two (Public & Private) Postal Services.

Stamps cancelled by LONDON-1 duplex, and front shows British boxed UNPAID ( crossed out) and INSUFFICIENTLY/PREPAID handstamps, German boxed ´UNZUREICHEND/FRANKIRT´, red ´1 1/4´ British debit, and blue ´5 1/4´ German debit. Reverse bears VERVIERS/COELN and RIGA transits, plus PERNAU arrival cds and manuscript ´19´ kopek postage due marking. A rare cover with 1997 Van der Linden certificate.
