Registro de Embarque del "Laúd Pilar" franqueado con dos sellos del 6 cu. negro, tipo I posicoines 5, 6, mat. fechador CULLERA/1-ENE-1850/VALENCIA en rojo. Esta carta estuvo expuesta en las colecciones de Alfageme y Cervera y durante décadas se consideró como una de las más importantes piezas del 6 cu. de 1850. En 1985 el experto F. Graus descubrió que el "Laúd Pilar" procedente de Cullera salió el 1 de Febrero, el error se produjo al no cambiar el Administrador de Correos el bloque del mes quedando el del mes anterior, Enero. A pesar de la controversia se trata de una verdadera cancelación 1-ENE-1850 y es una de las piezas más famosas del 6 cu. de 1850. Cert. This letter was exhibited in the Alfageme and Cervera collections and for decades has been considered one of the most important pieces of the 6 cu. extant. However, in 1985 expert F. Graus discovered that the "Laúd Pilar" had in fact left Cullera on February 1st, and thus the January "ENE" in the cancellation was an error of date rather than a First Day of Issue cancellation. Nevertheless this is a spectacular piece and remains a genuine usage of the cancellation and a very rare and famous piece. Cert. GRAUS. RARÍSIMA, sólo tres cartas conocidas procedentes del extranjero circuladas con sello de 6 cu.. 6 cu. black, type II, position 30, used on cover carried outside the Mails from MANCHESTE to MANRESA, mailed by Agent in Barcelona. RARE and most unusual, just three covers emanating from abroad are recorded with a 6 cu..

EXCEPCIONAL y ÚNICA carta conocida con el 6 cu. de 1850 circulado en el extranjero. Cert. GRAUS. 6 cu. black, tied by spider handstamp in black to cover endorsed "Estafeta" from GIBRALTAR to CADIZ with S. ROQUE cds below (July 4) in red. The sole recorded usage of the first issue mailed from Gibraltar, and the sole usage known mailed from a foreign country. UNIQUE. Cert. GRAUS.

(*) ESPAÑA. Ed. 1. 6 cu. negro. FALSO POSTAL detectado solamente tres meses después de la aparición del sello. Se adjuntan documento original fechado el 4 de Abril de 1850 y firmado por el grabador del sello Bartolome Coromina y dirigido al Director General de Correos explicando las características de este sello describiéndolo como "grosero y falto de inteligencia artística...se distingue a simple vista incluso por los no entendidos" y certificándolo como Falso. También el Auto definitivo del Juicio celebrado en la ciudad de Alicante el 29 de Abril de 1850 contra el Grabador Francisco Javier Martínez, de la citada ciudad y el impresor Vicente Pastor, de la ciudad de Murcia, en el que se demuestra la culpabilidad de los citados como autores de la falsificación del sello. Además se adjunta un expediente original de la Inspección realizada en Salamanca el 29 de Abril de 1850 buscando sellos Falsos, con nueve sellos adheridos procedentes de distintos estancos de la ciudad. Conjunto de extraordinario interés histórico, se trata del PRIMER FALSO POSTAL impreso en el mundo y esta pieza es la única conocida. Cert. GRAUS. 6 cu. black. POSTAL FORGERY detected only three months after its appearance. Enclosed original document dated April 4th 1850 and signed by the stamp's engraver Bartolome Coromina and addressed to the Post Office General Director explaining the characteristics of this stamp describing it as "vulgar and missing artistic intelligence...it shows at first sight even for the unknowing" and certifying it as Fake. Also final Decree from the Trial held in the city of Alicante on April 29th 1850 against the Engraver Francisco Javier Martinez, from the mentioned city and the printer Vicente Pastor, from the city of Murcia, where is proved the guilt of the mentioned perpetrators of the stamp's forgery. Also enclosed an original of the investigation file from the Inspection done in Salamanca on April 29th 1850 searching Forged stamps, with nine adhered stamps from different tobaconnist's.
