✉ COSTA DE ORO. 1871 (Nov 5). Envelope, embossed seal 'Spero' on reverse addressed from D. Patrick Chalmers to Edinburgh with superb "CAPE COAST CASTLE" code A (Macrae 7), datestamp in black of despatch. Rated "5" pence in red manuscript due to G.P.O. for ½ ounce rate. 'Paid / Liverpool / Br. Packet' cds in red of transit (Nov 29) and reverse with Edinburgh arrival cds. Very scarce: the datestamp in black was used on prepaid letters until Nov. 1871 only; thereafter on unpaid letters. Biro marks at left, nevertheless rare and attractive cover, unlisted by Sacher.

Envelope to LONDON, franked with 1875 6 d. orange, Wmk Crown CC, perf. 12 1/2, tied by AXIM 13.9.76 cds and manuscript "5", with red LIVERPOOL PACKET 23.10.76 cds, backstamped LONDON 24.10.76 arrival cds. Only 4 covers bearing the first issue are recorded by Sacher. A major British Commonwalth rarity. Cert. B.P.A. (2008).

✉ COSTA DE ORO. 1884 (Aug 27). Addah. 1½d. brown stationery card (Plate 1), used to Stettin, Germany cancelled by "Addah Seal" handstamp in black. Addah cds at left and Accra, Code C, transit (Sept 13) cds. Stettin arrival at left Oct 15. Rare late usage of the Addah Seal handstamp and one of only 3 known usages of the Seal handstamp on postal card.

✉ COSTA DE ORO. 1884. Envelope to ACCRA franked with diagonally bisected 1876-84 2 d. green, Wmk Crown CC, Perf 14, cancelled WINNEBAH 3.6.84 cds with ACCRA 8.3.84 arrival cds alongside. Manuscript "1" (penny) in red crayon. Listed in Sacher, page 190. Cert. B.P.A (2008).

Cover to REILSTEIN (Germany) from the "Basel Mission Factory" in ADDAH (Gold Coast), with cachet on reverse and manuscript "Addah Nov 10, 1887" at upper left, struck with framed AUS / WESTAFRIKA in black and franked by 1880 Germany 10pf. rose red strip of four all tied by transit datestamps of Hamburg (Dec 8). A rare and appealing cover.

✉ INDIA INGLESA. 1898. KAUL BAZAR to MANGALORE. 2 annas postal stationary envelope uprated with 1/2 a., 2 a., 8 d (3) and 1 rupee. Fine and scarce franking.

✉ INDIA. 1940. KILASAVALPATTI to KUALA LUMPUR. 1 anna postal stationery envelope (albino inprinted embossed stamp) uprated 3 pies (2) and 1 anna (2) correct rate (3 1/2 annas). The letter was treated as an underpaid (due to albino impresion) and taxed on arrival with M.P.U. 1 cent. lilac and 4 cent. green stamps.

✉ JAMAICA. 1867. Cover to PARIS sent unpaid struck on reverse with KINGSTON / JAMAICA cds of despatch; sent via London where cds (Dec 18) in red applied with framed GB / 2F accountancy markings in black. Charged 10 decimes in black on arrival.

✉ MALAYA. 1921. IPOH (Perak) to GERMANY. Postcard posted in PENANG without stamp, by PENANG cds and taxed on arrival with "160". Oval mark CHINESE PROTECTORATE IPOH, PERAK. Rare and interesting item.NOTE: As Ipoh was becoming the epicentre of chinese crime, the Perak Chinese Protectorate moved to Ipoh from Taiping in 1894. The Chinese Protector was here to solve crimes, as well as brothel ,sanitary and vagrant problems.

✉ MALAYA. 1922. BUKIT MERTAJAM (Perak) to U.S.A. Envelope previously franked with Federated Malay States stamps, not accepted for being invalid. Postage correctly paid by a copy of the 12 cents. of 1922 Straitts Settlements stamp. An interesting combination franking.

✉ MALAYA. 1925. PORT SWTTENHAM (Selangor) to MALACCA (Malaya). Postcard franked with 1 cto. black Straits Settlements stamp and 1 cto. black of F.M.S. stamp the first in not valid in Selangor. Taxed on arrival with Straits Settlements 1 cent. lilac stamp. Part of address erased and age stains. Very rare combination franking.

✉ MALAYA. 1926. PENANG to PERTH (Australia). AIR MAIL envelope franked with 6 cts. red stamp, taxed on arrival with Australian 3 d. red and green stamps.

✉ MALAYA. 1934. BUTTERWORTH (Penang) to LONDON. Envelope franked with five 5 cts. brown stamps, taxed on arrival with GB 1/2 d. green and 3 d. violet (3).

✉ MALAYA. 1934. MYINGYAN (Burma) to KUALA PILAH (Negri Sembilan, Malaya). Envelope franked with seven 3 pies green stamps, taxed on arrival with four F.M.S 1 ct. violet stamps. Age stains but a rare franking.
