✉ ITALIA. 1866. ALEXANDRIA (Transit). Letter from LIVORNO to MADRAS (India) paid the 1,20 Lire single rate (British mediation) to the disembarkation port. It was embarked on the "Adriatico Orientale" Italian packet for Alexandria where, care of the British P.O. was forwarded to Suez to be placed on board of the "Peninsular & Oriental" British packet "SS Behar". On arrival paid 1 anna, noted by red crayon, for inland rate.
