✉ CHILE. 1880 (April 26). TALCAHUANO to GREAT BRITAIN. Franked with 2 Chilean stamps of 5 ctvos. red and strip of three British 4 p. green all tied by TALCAHUANO/CHILE. The mail changed ship at Valparaiso (transit VALPARAISO cds. on back) and arrived Panama May 21st where at the B.P.O. it received the three line datestamp and the British adhesives cancelled with the C35 in bars. Back flap partly missing and other faults but an extraordinary cover, the only known example of using British stamps in TALCAHUANO.
