✉ GRAN BRETAÑA. 1859. ORAN. COURRIER DE L'ESPAGNE. Letter from GIBRALTAR to ORAN (Algerie) paid the internal rate with G.B., 2 d. stamp tied by "G" obliterator with GIBRALTAR cds at left. Was carried by the French COURRIER DE L'ESPAGNE packet and via Gibraltar to Oran. Was disembarked the following May 15 cds ESPAGNE-ORAN 15 MAI 58. Tax due "8" decimes on arrival.
Lot 1736
✉ FRANCIA. 1871. ORAN. Letter, Gazette des Absent n. 26, from PARIS to ORAN (Algerie) franked 20 c. "Siege de Paris" tied by PARIS R. CARDINAL LEMOINE postmark. It, carried by the "Le Porte de Paris" Ballon montée out of Paris under Prussian siege, landed in Merseloo (Nederland) and thence the mail to Lyon to be forwarded by train to Marseille and embarked on the packet for Oran. Cert. ROUMET.

✉ FRANCIA. 1871. ORAN. Letter from MARSEILLE to ARZEW (Algeria) paid the 20 c. single rate with Bordeaux 5 c. x 4. It was posted on board of the packet proceeding to Oran (Marseille Bateau a Vap.). On arrival, the stamps were tied by the "5051" gros chiffres mark.

✉ FRANCIA. 1860. PHILIPPEVILLE. Letter form PHILIPPEVILLE to PARIS paid the 20 c. simple internal rate. It was posted on board the French steamer for Marseille where, on arrival, the stamp was tied by the "petits chiffres 1896" receiving also the provenance mark PHILIPPEVILLE BAT.A.

✉ FRANCIA. 1871. PHILIPPEVILLE. Letter from PHILIPPEVILLE to CHALON sur SAONE (France) franked to pay the 40 c. double rate with "Napoleon" 10 c., "Bordeaux" 5 c. pair and "Siege" 20 c. In Marseille, the stamps tied by the "2240" with alongside the PHILIPPEVILE BAT. A VAP cds. Cert. E. DIENA.

✉ GIBRALTAR. 1859. TANGIER. COURRIER DE L'ESPAGNE. Letter from GIBRALTAR to TANGIER franked with G.B. 2 d. stamp tied by "A26" obliterator. Was carried by the French COURRIER DE L'ESPAGNE packet coming from Algerie and proceeding to Cadiz with a call a Tangier.

✉ GRAN BRETAÑA. 1852. TUNIS. Letter from LONDON to TUNIS paid the 1/3 d. rate to destination. It was forwarded via Marseille where, most likely for reason of State as addressed to the British Consul in Tunis, it, according to the ink note on reverse STEAMER OF WAR FOR THE BEY was delivered to a war ship of the Mediterranean Fleet.
