Front shows very fine ´A/ARMEE EXPED´E/D´AFRIQUE/P.P. cachet of Military Post Office, red oval AED handstamp, plus cursive PURIFIE A TOULON desinfection cachet in red. Reverse bears fine red DEBOURSES/CHAMBRE DEPUTES. Despite minor faults, a very rare desinfection Armée Port Payée letter with ´Bureaux Spéciaux´ Déboursé marking.

✉ ARGELIA. Ed. . 1847 (Sept 14). Entire letter from Algiers to Mostagnem with manuscript ´Alger´ used instead of the normal circular datestamp. Reverse with Mostagnem arrival cds of September 16th. Rare usage and apparently unique thus.

FR. Nº2 datestamp (Salles 1402) of the steamer LAFAYETTE with AGEN arrival on reverse. Very fine and scarce.

Obverse with oval framed italic LE GOUVERNEUR DE LA GUYANE FRANCAISE cachet in black. An unusual and early entire.
