Circulada por el correo Francés con una espectacular tira de seis ejemplares del 80 cts. rosa de Napoleón (Yv. 36) (un sello dentado inferior cortado a tijeras). Mat. ANCLA y fechador octogonal S. JEAN-DE-PORTO-RICO/* (Salles nº 1373), al dorso el muy raro fechador octogonal PORTO RICO/PAQ.FR.Nº1. Pieza excepcional se trata de un franqueo de seis portes y sin duda una de las piezas más importantes conocidas de los Correos Franceses en el Caribe.

✉ RUMANIA. 1872. BUCAREST to ST. ETIENNE (France). 10 bani blue, 25 bani orange and 50 bani rose (2) with small BUCURESCI cds. Registered letter arrival on back. RARE tricolor franking.

Entire letter from ROSTOV to SYRA via Odessa, franked on despatch with Arms 1865 1k. yellow, 3k. pale green and vertical strip of three 10k. blue & brown tied by circular FRANCO in red. Odessa diamond transit at right and charged 65 lepta on arrival with overlapped 1862/67 5 lepta green, 20 l. blue and 40 lepta rosy mauve all tied by SYRA / 67 datestamps. Creasing typical for this correspondence, despite small imperfections an attractive entire.

✉ RUSIA. 1868. Cover to ATHENS, endorsed "Paid 20 kop" at top, franked by Arms 1865 10 kop. brown and blue tied by Odessa cds. With Greece Large Hermes 5 Lepta green and 40 Lepta mauve on blued tied by Athens cds's.

ANCLA y fechador de la Oficina Francesa de Constantinopla. Tasada a la llegada con "45" l. pagados con sellos griegos de 5 l. y 40 l. Interesante combinación de franqueo.

Printed cover front sent from SAN SALVADOR to PARIS with 1874 2r green and 4r bistre with circular Type III CONTRASELLO handstamps both with framed FRANCO cancels with CORREOS DE SAN SALVADOR cds in red alongside (22 Dec.). Small PANAMA transit cds, unframed "T" and ms. "2.20" accountancy (double rate) with h/struck "32" (decimes) arrival rating. Rare. Ex Cervera. Cert. B. MOORHOUSE.

✉ SUECIA. 1856. 3 sk. bluish green, three singles all tied by UPSALA/25.8.1856 boxed cds on small neat envelope addressed to KOPENHAGEN, Denmark, showing manuscript "Franco" alongside and arrival bs, another 3 sk. stamp fell of in transit, some short perfs., stamps with excellent colour and of extremely fresch appearance, an attractive and very rare usage. Reverse with 'Deutz/Minden' TPO datestamp and arrival cds. Certificate Rellstab. SBK 27C.

On arrival, re-addressed to Zurich and franked by Swiss 5c. brown tied by Aarau (Feb 14) cds. An attractive and unusual usage. Cert. RELLSTAB (1997).

SAIGON COCHIN. datestamp with military cachet REGIMENT DE TIRAILLEURS ANNAMMITES, 2nd. BON. 7e C.c/LE CAPITAINE COMMANDANT in blue and signed by the Commander. A rare item of military mail, the first recorded example of this cachet on Siam occupation mail.

✉ TAILANDIA. 1903 (Dec 12). 4a. carmine on buff postal stationery card used to TOKYO (Japan) up-rated with 1899-1904 2a. yellow green tied by native BANGKOK cds (and by Tokio arrival). Bangkok cds at left and transit of Victoria-Hong Kong alongside (Dec 28). An unusual and attractive usage. Scott 76.

✉ TAILANDIA. 1929. CHIENGMAI to U.S.A. Envelope written from 'The Prince Royal College, Chiengmai, Siam, addresed to WASHINGTON D.C. bearing Great Britain 1 d. scarlet and 2 d. orange tied by KENG TUNG double ring, stamps deemed invalid and outlined with blue crayon with T/50 c. applied in Burma and NEW YORK/DUE 10 CENTS, duplex applied in transit. Very fine item from the Siamese/Burma border as Keng Tung was under British and at other times Siamese depending on the border conflicts in the region. Kengtung is presently in the Eastern Shan State of Burma though historically it was closely tied to the Lanna Kingdom of Northern Thailnd. Very interesting item.

LOUIS to PHILADELPHIA, posted on November 30th 1845, franked with one Postmaster's Provisional postage stamp, Bears of St. Louis-Missouri Coat of Arms 10 cents black, imperforated, recess printed on thin greenish wove paper without watermark. Cancelled and tied to the cover by the red circular datestamp ST. LOUIS MO./NOV. 30, with straight-line unframed red PAID and manuscript "10". Probably the earliest date known for this issue. Cert. SISMONDO.

Envelope franked by four 2 cts. black, four 3 cts. rose (one with contemporany defect) and 12 cts. black tied with quartered corks and NEW ORLEANS cds, red "10" cents in circle credit handstamp ties one 2 cts. Endorsed "Via Prusse closed Mail", transit and arrival on back. Extremely rare and spectacular. Black Jack cover to Denmark.

Upon arrival a US. 3 ctvos. orange stamp was added for the local delivery, tied with NEW YORK/AUG. 25/10 PM/E cancel, on reverse arrival NEW YORK/AUG. 25/11,30 PM/REC'D. Very rare combination cover.
