✉ GIBRALTAR. 1830. LISBON to MALTA. Forwarded letter to GIBRALTAR with unrecorded Gibraltar "Samuel Tassis" Forwarding Agent endorsement. Red GIBRALTAR arc struck and charged "6" on arrival.

✉ GIBRALTAR. 1834. GIBRALTAR to MALTA. Entire letter with black GIBRALTAR/PAID struck in error and so with ´PAID´ crossed through. Charged ´6´ on arrival. VERY RARE, this is the sole recorded erroneous used of the PAID mark in this period.

(the name has been crossed through but has been cleverly restored), with GIBRALTAR/PAID mark and "8" manuscript rate. Endorsed "To the care of the British Consul, Patras". Red Band envelope to FRANCE bearing Chinese Imperial Post 10 cents green (SG 113) tied by SWATOW datestamp routed via Hong Kong bearing 10 cents blue (SG 59) tied by boxed SWATOW I.P.O. tie-print in red (Webb Type 3) sent by French paquebot with octagonal LIGNE N PAQ. FR No 5 datestamp with RETIERS arrival in France on reverse. Very fine combination cover.

✉ INDIA INGLESA. 1800 (Aug 18). Extremely early entire letter from CALCUTTA to MADEIRA, sent outside the Mails and endorsed on front "Forwarded by y.m.s. Prinsch & Saunders" (probably in London). Docketed inside as received 'April 10, 1802'. A fresh and fine entire.

Entire letter from India to London, endorsed ´per Overland Mail via Falmouth´ at top, oval framed ´INDIA´ on front and, on arrival readdressed on to Oxford with GB 1841 1d red brown tied by black Maltese Cross. Reverse bears London, Oxford and eventual Pewsey arrivals cds. Rare and interesting entire. SG 8.
