LETTERSHEET bearing horiz. strip of three 2 sk. blue (left stamp bottom frameline barely touched) in mixed franking with horiz. strip of three 8 sk. green (left stamp left margin touched), all in fresh shades and each stamp clearly cancelled ´51´ within circles and c.d.s. ODENSE 29/8 3-10E alongside to London, with red arrival mark LONDON PAID 30 Au.65 on front (this combination of the 30 skilling rate was previously unrecorded-approx. 10 almost identical covers are known with 3 x 2 skilling and 3 x 8 skilling, but from the 1857 issue with dotted background). Entire letter to France at double rate bearing 1871-72 40c. orange on yellowish (2) and 1872-77 5c. green on blue green (two pairs) for 1 franc rate; all tied by MQE lozenge with St. Pierre cds below. Blue St. Nazaire entry mark on front (July 29) and adhesives further cancelled on arrival to prevent re-use. A fine entire. Scott 14,19.

TAHITI. 1865 (Nov 1). Cover at double rate from TAHITI to LIBOURNE franked by 1859-65 Eagle 40c. vermilion in two strips of three, all tied by OCN dotted lozenge in black. Reverse with octagonal COL. FR.-PAQ. FR. A. No. 3 in black and arrival cds. A remarkable cover. Signed Calves, Jamet. Certificate SCHELLER and SISMONDO. Ceres 5.

TAHITI. 1884 (Aug 5). Formula card, slight vertical bend, used to Matirea, Tahiti franked by 1884 surcharged 'Tahiti/10c.' in black reading up on General Issues 1881 20c. red on green, tied by 'Papeete/Taiti' cds with repeated strike below. Extremely rare (cat $3'000 as a single franking). Certificates ROBINEAU and SISMONDO. Ceres 5. Scott 3b.

ITALIA ANTIGUOS ESTADOS: CERDEÑA. 1860 (Nov 23). Stampless cover to the Sardinian Consul General in Tangier/Morocco franked by 1855-63 10c. greyish bistre brown, 20c. indigo blue and 40c. carmine all tied by Genova cds's. Reverse with Consular cachet in blue and Marseille transit (Nov 26) and Oran transit (Dec 1). Despite small margin imperfections, a very rare cover. Just two covers to Morocco from Sardinia are recorded in this period. Scott 11h,12d,13b.

ITALIA ANTIGUOS ESTADOS: TOSCANA. Sa. 22(2). 1861. FIRENZE a NEW YORK (U.S.A.). 80 cts. bistre carmín, un sello grandes márgenes y el otro dos márgenes apenas tocan. Manuscrito "per Canada Via Liverpool". Tarifa de 1,60 Liras equivocada (el porte correcto a USA era de 1,20 Liras), al fanquear la carta como si estuviera destinada al Canadá. La indicación manuscrita "Per Canada" indicaba el nombre del barco que transportó la carta. Pequeña erosión en la parte inferior del sobre. RARÍSIMO franqueo, ÚNICO CONOCIDO. (Sa. +20.000Ђ).

° ALEJANDRIA. Sa. 6f. 30 cts. castaño de Italia con habilitación ESTERO DOBLE. Mat. rectángulo de puntos 234 de ALEJANDRÍA. En margen derecho con dos dientes cortos. Sello RARÍSIMO, sólo se conocen este ejmplar y una carta fechada el 18 de Julio salida de Alejandría. Una de las grandes rarezas del Levante italiano. Cert. G.COLLA.

Marca ARMEE D'ESPAGNE y porte manuscrito de 24 sous. Extraordinariamente rara.

Registered cover from Lenzburg to Wien (Austria) bearing fine mixed- issue franking of imperforate 1857-62 (Berne III) 40r. green vertical pair and perforated 1862 20r. orange yellow tied by Lenzburg cds. ´Chargé´ in black at right and Vienna arrival cds (May 13) on reverse. Small imperfections of no real importance, a fine and VERY RARE franking, probably unique. Cert. SBPV, MARCHAND.

Extraordinary registered cover to Solicitors in Holbeach, Lincolnshire, UK franked by largest known multiple on letter of the 1857 12c black-BLOCK OF 28 (7X4)-cancelled through with manuscript pen crosses with fine LEONIDAS-MICH cds at left (mss ´336´ registration number inserted). Red Liverpool-Col.Packet cds of receipt (Aug 9) and Holbeach arrival in blue. Astonishing franking totalling $3.36c. Exhibition item of the utmost rarity. Scott 36.
