'Paid / Liverpool / Br. Packet' cds in red (June 12) on front and London arrival on reverse. Listed in Sacher, a scarce usage.

✉ COSTA DE ORO. 1887 (June). Woerman Line cover to Reilstein, manuscript "Accra" at upper left in blue, franked by Germany 1885 10pf. rose carmine pair tied by bold "Aus West-Africa / mit / Hamburger Dampfer" in black; reverse with Marbach arrival cds July 18 in black. A fine cover.

✉ COSTA DE ORO. 1888 (16 Feb.). Envelope to LONDON, bearing 1885 4 d. deep mauve vertical pair affixed sideways and tied by "554" numeral, showing manuscript "8", ACCRA cds and PAID/LIVERPOOL/BR. PACKET cds in red (16.3) with arrival datestamp on reverse.

✉ COSTA DE ORO. 1889 (26 Dec.). Envelope to LONDON, bearing 1885 4 d. deep mauve tied by WINNEBAH cds in red with another clear strike alongside, showing red crayon "4", CAPE COAST transit d.s. (28.12) and PAID/LIVERPOOL/BR. PACKET cds in red (27.1). A neat and attractive franking.

✉ COSTA DE ORO. 1898 (May 2). 2d. blue registered postal stationery envelope, size F, used to London franked by 1884 ½d. dull green (5) all tied by bold strikes of scarce "APPAM" cds's in black (Type D4). SG 11.

✉ COSTA DE ORO. 1904. ST. LOUIS (U.S.A.) to AXIM (Gold Coast). 2 cents red and 5 cents blue redirected to LIVERPOOL with Gold Coast 2 1/2 d. lilac and blue stamp. Faults but RARE franking combination.

Registered envelope to IRELAND bearing 2 cents green (SG 2), 4 cents red (pair) (SG 3) and 10 cents blue (SG 6) tied by TIENTSIN BR P.O. datestamp with boxed hand-struck REGISTERED TIENTSIN B.P.O. in red, routed via Hong Kong with DUBLIN arrival on reverse. Very fine item of mail.

✉ HONG KONG. 1948. HONG KONG to CANADA. Large part of cover franked with 10 cent. (3) and 50 cts. taxed on arrival with Canadian 2 cents. lilac (8) stamps. Spectacular combinated franking.

✉ HONG KONG. 1953. HONG KONG to LONDON. CRASH MAIL. Air letter crashed 45 km. from Calcutta en route for Delhi. Cachet SALVAGED "COMET CRASH NEAR CALCUTTA/2nd MAY 1953.

✉ INDIA INGLESA. 1800 (Aug 18). Extremely early entire letter from CALCUTTA to MADEIRA, sent outside the Mails and endorsed on front "Forwarded by y.m.s. Prinsch & Saunders" (probably in London). Docketed inside as received 'April 10, 1802'. A fresh and fine entire.

✉ INDIA INGLESA. Ed. . 1858. Cover to his GRACE the Duke of Norfolk at ARUNDEL with CALCUTTA despatch on reverse and good strike of scarce SAVED FROM THE WRECK/OF THE AVA in black. The Avawas wrecked near TRINCOMALEE in CEYLON on 16 February 1858 and the Mails mostly arrived in LONDON in June 1858.

✉ INDIA INGLESA. 1860. CALCUTTA to U.S.A. Envelope franked on reverse with 1/2 a. blue, 1 a. black and 8 a. red on blue stamps. DUE 3 cents mark and BOSTON arrival cds. Fine four-colour franking.

✉ INDIA INGLESA. Sg. 36, 37, 39, 41. 1861. CALCUTTA to NEW YORK. Entire letter franked with 1/2 a., 1a., 2a. and 8a. stamps tied by octagon B-1 cancel, red boxed INDIA PAID and 16 cents marks. Light vertical fold through 1/2 a. Very fine and attractive four-colour franking.

✉ INDIA. Sg. 39,42. 1861 (March 16). Cover to BRENTWOOD (UK) franked by 1856/64 1a. brown (4) and single 2a. yellow-buff tied by '103' numeral obliterators of Fyzabad. Reverse with FYZABAD despatch cds and framed INDIA PAID in same ink, Allahabad cds in red, Bombay cds and Brentwood arrival (April 19).

Cover to NEATH (Wales) endorsed 'via Marseilles' franked by 1865 ½a. blue pair, 2a. brown-orange and 4a. green tied by '224' numeral obliterators with MURREE cds alongside. Framed INDIA/PAID in red at left and reverse with Lahore transit (Oct 5) and Bombay cds (Oct 12).

Cover to NEATH (Wales) endorsed 'via Marseilles' franked by scarce 1860 8p. mauve on blued, 1865 2a. orange and 1866 4a. green all tied by '220' numeral obliterators with ABBOTABAD cds at left of despatch. Framed INDIA/PAID in red and reverse with Lahore transit (July 17) and Neath arrival cds (Aug 21). A fine cover.
