The mail was posted in China and cancelled by the Post Local cachet and forwarded via the Indo-China post as the most convenient route to France.

Renewed disturbances´ and endorsed to LONDON per British Packet. The entire was sent via JAMAICA with manuscript ´Fwd´d 22 June 1840´ with outstanding KINGSTON cds on reverse (June 27) and LONDON arrival on reverse (Aug 9). On arrival in FALMOUTH a superb strike of the CARTHAGENA Fleuron handstamp in red applied on front and rated 4 s. 1 d. Truly delightful and historic cover.

Atello' and struck on front with oval SANTA MARTA / DEBE with '1½' reales rate mark in blue. Fine entire that open well for display.
